Finger punching machine for conveyor belts

Cuts the interdigitated tooth pattern for finger joint splices in single-ply PVC and PU belts. Joint with no thickness increase and uniform tension distribution. Exclusive representatives of Kunming Conveyor Belt Co., Ltd. in Europe and Latin America.

The finger punching machine cuts the interdigitated tooth pattern needed to make "finger joint" splices in PVC and PU conveyor belts. This type of splice is the most widely used in single-ply belts because it distributes tension uniformly along the joint, without creating a double-thickness point as with a lap splice.

At NFP Industrial we supply finger punching machines from Kunming Conveyor Belt Co., Ltd., available in three models depending on the belt width.

When to use the finger joint splice?

The finger joint is the recommended splice when:

  • The belt is single-ply — the lap splice does not work well
  • A joint with no thickness increase at the splice point is needed — critical for belts that pass through blades, pressure rollers or seals
  • The belt operates on small roller diameters — the finger joint is more flexible than the lap splice
  • Uniform tension distribution at the joint is required

For multi-ply belts (2+ plies), the lap splice with a splicing press is usually more suitable.

How does the finger joint splicing process work?

  1. 1.Both belt ends are cut with the punching machine, generating the interdigitated tooth pattern
  2. 2.The teeth of both ends are interlocked
  3. 3.Fused with the splicing press under heat and pressure
  4. 4.Result: continuous joint, with no thickness increase, and uniform tension distribution

The punching machine and the splicing press work together — the first cuts the pattern and the second fuses the joint.
